Heat soak testing is a heat treatment process that can be carried out on glass. The testing process involves placing glass that has already been toughened into another oven and heating it to a temperature around 290ºC and then holding it at that temperature for a pre-set period, typically 2 hours. The heat soak testing is said to reduce the risk of spontaneous failure by up to 99%.
